Spent quite a few nights talking to Herb when we lived beside each other for a while. A very kind man who was always very welcoming to me. I'm sorry for your loss Horace.

I cannot begin to describe how heartbroken I am...but knowing that Mr. Shirley is in Heaven with our most kind and gracious Heavenly Father, and his sweet wife, gives me a sense of peace. I know without a shadow of doubt, that he is resting in peace. He was a kind, giving and loving person. He loved the Lord, he was a man of strong faith, and he taught me how to hold on to mine. He loved his wife and took wonderful care of her, and he loved his family. I will miss our visits, our talks...and watching old movies together! He will always be my father-in-law; he will always be my friend. I will miss him so very much.

My prayers are with you all during this sad time. I knew Herbert when going to Kings Business College & sat in the bus terminal waiting for my ride home. Herbert & the other agents always looked after the "youngsters". The smile on his face & winning personality always made one feel good, even when they were having a bad hair day! Memories are a beautiful thing to have & with Herbert, there should be lots to share. May our Lord & Saviour give you peace during this difficult time.
