John Reuben Pearce, 82, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017. He was born September 26, 1934 in Franklin County to the late James Hilary Pearce and Repsie Rogers Pearce. He graduated in 1953 from Wakelon High School. John retired with 40 years of service with the NC DOT. He was a devoted member of White Stone Lodge #155. John and his family have been members of Trinity United Methodist Church for 49 years, where they served in various capacities. 

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 824 N Bloodworth St, Raleigh, 27604. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. 

Surviving: wife Virginia Price Pearce; son, James Pearce (Pamela) of St. Johns, FL; daughter, Patsy Pearce Gupton of Hillsborough; grandchildren: Georgia Gupton, Franklin Pearce, Terri G. Lingle, Valerie Gupton, Sarah G. Lee, Douglas Potts, Daniel Potts; great-grandchildren: Julian, Savannah, Alexis, Darrell, Ryleigh; brothers: Vernon, Hilary, Thomas Pearce all of Zebulon, Jimmy Pearce of Wake Forest. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Stone Lodge #155, Zebulon or Trinity United Methodist Church.
