Brother Kirby,

Thank you for allowing the opportunity to spend some time in the company of sister Kirby and yourself. I met you both while carrying out Patient Visitations (PVG). In so doing, I learned a lot from you two, as 47 years of marriage involved a plethora of self-sacrificing, for care-giving found its way into your marriage from the start; yes, "Love never fails".

I find myself laughing when I recall your telling me that you were better than your wife at basketball;only to hear sister Kirby "he wish he were". Wow! several of her high school athlete records remain, which underscores how good an athlete she was.

Brother Kirby, I just found out today (7/5/2017) that your bride fell asleep in death. Please from the bottom of my heart my condolences.

Your brother,

Earnest Wilkerson Jr

Earl, my brother, it grieved my heart to receive the call from you that Emma had died and I know your heart is grieving and will grieve for a long time. I am happy that she and her whole family was a part of mine for over 50 years. She was my freshman College roommate and we became sisters, as well as friends until her death. I will continue to cherish those precious moments we shared and will miss her terribly. Again, I thank you for being the loving and caring husband that you were. God will continue to watch over you as well as family and loved ones. Love you my brother, Sister Marva

Emma and I became close friends immediately at NCCU our freshman year and became roommates our junior year. Our close friendship built the kind of trust and respect that made our friendship a lasting and loving one. I will always remember and hold Emma close to my heart. Earl, my deepest sympathy with comfort, support, love and peace of mind to you and your family.

It breaks our hearts when death separates us from those whom we love and/or are our friends. The Bible reminds us that God sees our pain and sorrow and has promised that soon, "death will be no more." - (Revelation 21:4) He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting your precious loved ones to life again. -(John 6:40) Until then, I hope the beautiful memories and these promises from God comforts you in the days to ahead. Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your loved one.
