Weldon "Don" Woodrow Stokes Jr

Weldon Woodrow “Don” Stokes, Jr., 79, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was born February 23, 1942 in Tampa, FL to the late Weldon Woodrow Stokes, Sr. and Doris Richardson Williams.

Don retired from IBM as a design engineer but continued to do contracting/consulting work for them after his retirement. 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home. 

Surviving: wife of 59 years, Constance “Connie” Wilson Stokes; children: Renee Parrish (Auman), Randy Stokes, Rodney Stokes (Alicia); grandchildren: Bradley Upchurch, Grant Laughrey (Karley), Heather Davis (Hunter), Danielle Stokes, Rod Stokes, Randall Stokes, Reyanna Stokes; great-grandchild, Finn Laughrey; half-brother, Douglas Williams (Laurel). 

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Stokes.
