Torchie (Denton) Stallings

Torchie Denton Stallings, 81, of the Pilot Community, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2020. She was born July 9, 1938 in Franklin County to the late Robert Lee Denton and Roxie Medlin Denton. After graduating from Bunn High School she married the love of her life Wallace C. Stallings. Together they spent the next 60 years raising their family and serving the Lord at Pilot Baptist Church. Mom was a devoted wife and mother. She worked tirelessly in their home and was a skilled seamstress and quilt maker.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Pilot Baptist Church, 8103 NC 39, Zebulon, NC 27597. Burial will follow in the Stallings Family Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends following the burial at the Family Life Center and other times at the home of Jill and Wayne Owen, 385 Clyde Pearce Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.

She is survived by her daughters: Jill S. Owen (Wayne) of Pilot, Armenia S. Davis (Clyde) of Pearces, Mary S. Evans (Nathan) of Clayton; sons: William R. Stallings (Michelle) of Pilot, Joseph E. Stallings (Judy Matthews) of Pilot; grandchildren: Adam Owen (Jayme), Georganna Davis, Leah Owen, Olivia Davis Brewer (Jared), Ellouise Davis, Emily Stallings, William Stallings II, John Michael Stallings, Ava Evans, Ethan Evans, Cullen Evans; great-grandchildren, Brody Owen and Lily Owen.

In addition to her parents and husband, Torchie was preceded in death by her sister, Pansy D. Bunn.
