Todd Joseph Roberts

Todd Joseph Roberts, age 62 of Middlesex, NC passed away peacefully in his home June 2, 2021. He was born June 8, 1958 in Watertown, New York to Frank and Jean (Bacon) Roberts. He found love and married, Shirley Troutman June 5, 1999 who preceded him on November 1, 2012. Todd grew up in Sandy Creek, a small village in upstate New York, where he had access to the woods, rivers, creeks and nearby Lake Ontario. He was a lover of all nature and living things, you never knew what he would come home with (an injured bird, muskrat, owl or cow); he had the kindest heart from the day he was born. Todd loved baseball and played Little League, which his dad played a large roll in its organization. He played on the baseball and football teams while attending Sandy Creek Central School. He had many friends there and continued to stay in touch. He moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1973 with his family when he was a teenager and attended Millbrook School. He enjoyed the open road on his Harley, and loved to fish. Todd would make many trips back north to the village area with his brother Tim to salmon fish. Most of his life he worked in commercial and residential restoration. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. 

He is survived by his girlfriend, Sherry Clay, Middlesex, NC; son, Steven (Sandra) Taylor, Charleston, SC; three sisters: Jeryl (Steve) Jones of Scottsdale, AZ, Pamela (Roberts) Blonairczyk, Zebulon, NC, Rachel (Roberts) Decker, Milwaukee, WI; brother, Timothy Roberts, Wendell, NC.; three loving grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Troutman Roberts and brother, Daniel Roberts.
