Susan (O'Brien) Fields

Susan O’Brien Fields, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born July 14, 1944 in New York to the late Herbert O’Brien and Joan Flannagan O’Brien. Susan retired as an accountant with Wake Medical Center. She married the love of her life, Robert Carlton “RC” Fields, Jr. in 1973 and they made their home in Raleigh for over 43 years. Susan loved traveling, horses and barbershop singing. 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the funeral home. 

A private burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery. 

She is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” Carlton Fields, III of Raleigh; granddaughter, Samantha Steinman; great-granddaughter, Merit Steinman both of Knoxville, TN.
