Stephen Franklin Currie

Stephen “Steve” Franklin Currie, 74 passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He is now with his Savior about whom he loved to sing. He was born September 20, 1948, in Sampson County to the late Clayton A. Currie and Hilda Phillips Currie. He honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1969 through 1973. Steve earned two associate degrees from Hardbargers Junior College and attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He retired as Missions and Senior Adults Pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale in 2021.  

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Rd, Knightdale. There will be a public viewing prior to the service from 4:30 to 5:00 pm at the church.

A private family graveside will be held at Greenmount Cemetery, Wendell, NC. 

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Kearney Currie; daughter, Wendy Currie Collier and her husband, Robbie; brother, Wayne Currie and his wife, Kelly; sister-in-law, Kathy Currie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers: Durant Currie and Byron Currie; sister-in-law, Christine Currie.
