Shirley (Davis) Hill

Shirley Davis Hill, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1944 in Craven County to the late William Franks Davis and Mertie Adline Noble Davis. She was a faithful member of Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church. Shirley loved her children, her dog, Rosie, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gene Hill; son, Michael Hill (Kristie); daughter, Michelle Freed (Bobby); step-son, Mark Hill; grandchildren: Michael Hill Jr., Ashleigh Hill, Bryson Freed, Baylee Freed, Barrett Freed, and Preston Hill; great-grandchild, Tony Lombard; and a sister, Betty Jean D. Wilcox.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: William Davis Jr., Doris Davis and Lynwood Earl Davis.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, NC 27597. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church.
