Shelby Jean (Brantley) Mullen

Shelby Jean Brantley Mullen, 86, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at her home. She was born June 7, 1936 in Nash County to the late Theodore Lou Brantley and Betty Gertrude Edwards Brantley. Shelby retired from the NC Department of Motor Vehicles and People’s Bank. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles Gray Mullen.

She is survived by her son, Charles Keith Mullen; daughter, Sheila Jean Mullen; grandson, Bryan Keith Mullen; great-granddaughters: Alexis Mullen and Aubrey Jean Mullen; her siblings: James O. Brantley (Linda), Inez B. Robbins, Peggy Lou B. Taylor, Larry E. Brantley, Margaret B. Campbell, and Charles A. Brantley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret B. Campbell and Charles A. Brantley.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 19, 2022 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 874 Pine Ridge Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
