Russell Edward Capps

Russell Edward Capps, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born April 29, 1944 in Johnston County to the late Johnnie Capps and Florence Lonnie Stanley Capps. Russell retired as a  self-employed plumber. 

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022 at Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 N Carolina 96, Zebulon. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at the church. 

He is survived by his wife, Ann Massengill Capps; daughters: Ruth Annette Ragan (David), Joy Capps Tant (Travis); grandchildren: Russell Ragan (Leslie), Jesica Ragan Hill (Anthony), William Tant (Shaquawana); great-grandchildren: Caroline Ragan, Spencer Ragan, Morgan Ragan, Cam´ron Tant, Zuh´ri Tant; sisters: Patricia Capps, Jean Stanley, Hilda Brown; brother, JB Capps. 

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba Hamilton Capps; brothers: JC Capps, Billy Capps, Sherwood Capps Stanley, Johnny Ray Capps; brothers-in-law: Everette Brown, Donsi Stanley, Gail Bailey; mother-in-law, Esther Hamilton. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church.
