Ruby Geneva (Carter) Brown

Ruby “Geneva” Carter Brown, 101, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2021 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was born November 2, 1919 in Wake County to the late James Madison Carter and Maggie Louise Arnold Carter. 

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Shirley Santillana; two grandchildren; sisters: Toye Creel and Joyce Chambers; brother, Morris Carter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Brown; as well as several brothers and sisters. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 8, 2021 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, 4855 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
