Ross "Phil" Philip Wagher

Ross Philip “Phil” Wagher, 86, Raleigh, NC died May 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Trimmer), three sisters, and a brother. He is survived by his sister, Norma (&Keith) Johnson, his three children: Catrina (& Bob) Anderson, Mark Wagher, and Jennifer (& Jack) McLean, five grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 5510 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609 Tuesday, May 30th at 1:00 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm. Military honors and burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27617.

Phil graduated from ROVA High School in Oneida, IL in 1954 and attended Western Illinois University then served in the Army as a Specialist II until 1958. In September 1958 he married Elizabeth “Betty” Trimmer and they had three children. After he retired from Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg, IL in 1985, he served as an accountant at Friendship Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC and then at the North Carolina chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society until he retired in 2013.
