Ronald Dwight Powell

Ronald “Ron” Dwight Powell, 68, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020. He was born April 8, 1952 in Turkey, Texas to the late Roland Dwight Powell and Helen Hobbs Powell. After he graduated high school he joined the Marines and served from 1970 to 1976 with two tours in Vietnam. Most of his adult life he worked in bridge construction and microwave tower construction, throughout the country.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at VFW Post #10225, 1706 W. Garner Road, Garner, NC 27529.

He is survived by his daughters: Michelle Powell, Jennie Powell Lewis (Shawn), Malesa Ann Powell-Benton (Brad), Sara Jane Powell Lycon; sons: Cody Cheyenne Powell, Ron Dakota Powell; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a devoted and caring sister, Kathy Powell Scott.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #10225, 1706 W. Garner Road, Garner, NC 27529, where Ron was a lifetime member.
