Robert Hunter Satterwhite

Robert Hunter Satterwhite, 71, passed away July 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vance County to Gladys Hite Coker and the late Robert Galston Satterwhite. Robert was a mechanic by trade for over 20 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Geraldine Crawford Satterwhite; son, Robert “Robbie” Galston Satterwhite; daughter, Dawn Hall; mother, Gladys Hite Coker; sisters: Pat Fowler (Harold), Marian Raaf (Dave), Gail Massey (Jim); grandchildren: Connor Hall, Nichole Reynolds, Brittney Roberts, Gary “Clay" Reynolds, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Robert was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Reynolds and daughter, Donna Holt.

Robert was a jack of all trades; countless family and friends relied on his handyman skills. Known for his colorful jokes and a contagious laugh, Robert loved to make everyone around him smile along with him. One of Robert’s favorite places was on a pier with a fishing pole in his hand.

Robert was a courageous warrior who battled various cardiac diseases for many years. He met each challenge full force and endured numerous surgeries and procedures with his wife always there to nurse him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 26, 2022. at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Thanksgiving Baptist Church Cemetery, 6701 NC 42, Selma, NC 27576.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the Triangle American Heart Association or Kindred Hospice.
