Obituary
Robert Lee Benson Sr., 65, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 29, 2021at his home. Robert was born September 9, 1955 in Cumberland County to the late Rodney Lee Benson and Christine Baker Benson Reason.
He is survived by his children: Connie Benson, Robert Lee “Little Robert” Benson Jr.; grandchildren: Victoria C. Vaughan, Braxton Lee Benson; sister, Cathy D. Richardson (Kenneth), step-sister, Patricia Ann Reason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Ann Richardson and brother, Steven Lloyd Benson.
Funeral service 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church Cemetery, 4879 NC 56, Castalia, NC 27816. For anyone unable to attend, the chapel service will be live streamed and may be viewed by clicking the live stream link below.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the Benson family with expenses.
