Rita Marie (Parlowe) Farrington

Rita Marie Parlowe Farrington, (95) born March 4, 1927 in Allentown, PA passed away April 19, 2022.  She was born to Margaret Parlowe Sukeena and John Parlowe.  She met her husband DeWitt V. Farrington, Jr. in 1980 and they were married December 18, 1981. They resided in Allentown, PA until DeWitt passed and she moved to Knightdale, NC to be cared for by her step-son Jim.  She was very active and a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi and St. John the Baptist Slovak Church both churches in Allentown, PA. Rita was a free-spirited person and loved to travel with DeWitt.  Their favorite places to go were VA and NC to visit the grandchildren, to the family cabin in the Poconos and Canada for their yearly fishing trips. They both always made sure the family was provided for from food on the table to winter coats on their backs.  Rita will always be remembered for her love of cooking and throwing a dinner, traveling, playing games/cards and shopping!

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband DeWitt V. Farrington, Jr., and her two sisters Jacqueline Seegan and Anna Mae Sullivan.

Rita is survived by her stepchildren Donna Knight, Denise Wright, Victoria Kelly, James Farrington (Robin) and Thomas Farrington, by her 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Per Rita’s wishes she will be cremated and later the family will spread her ashes along with DeWitt’s ashes at the family cabin.
