Richard Paul Maynard
July 9, 1944 ~ January 30, 2024 (age 79) 79 Years Old
Be the first to offer your condolences on Richard's Tribute Wall
Richard Paul Maynard, 79 of Zebulon, born in Atlanta, GA in 1944 and died peacefully on January 30, 2024. He had been married to his wife, Nancy for 54 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Claude G. Maynard and Bonnie Brown Maynard of Atlanta, GA; his brother, Tom Maynard of Parker, CO. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Lapp Maynard; sons: Kevin Paul Maynard (Mary) of Eaton, CO and Chad Lee Maynard (Amber S) of Blue Bell, PA; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters-in-law: Donna Maynard of Grand Junction, CO and Jo Lapp of Bailey, NC; his niece Kendra Harman (Derrick) of Morrison, CO; and nephew, Derrick Maynard of Grand Junction, CO.
Richard graduated from Georgia Tech and worked in the construction industry for his 45 year career. Richard was a project manager with The Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. for his last 25 years on numerous projects across the United States including UPS Distribution Centers, US Post Offices, Immigrations projects, NASA Space Center projects, condominium projects, etc. In the various courthouses that he worked on, he had immense pride for the Las Vegas Court House. Richard was an avid NASCAR fan and once retired, he had the time to travel to some of the tracks at his leisure. Another of Richard’s retirement pleasures, particularly in later years, was going out for breakfast and exchanging stories with his local cronies. We would be remiss if we did not say how much enjoyment Richard had with the family pets: Ginger and Sami the border terriers.
Richard has requested his funeral to be private and in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Richard’s name to be sent to a charity of your choice.
