Rev. Gentle Crown

Rev. Gentle Crown, age 72, is Karen from Kawthoolei state in Burma and passed away Friday, June 3, 2022. He was born March 11, 1950 in Paing Kyone City, Burma. Rev. Gentle Crown graduated high school in Hailangbwe, Burma. He married the love of his life, Esther Doh on January 9, 1973 and together they provided a wonderful home for their four children.

He fled his country and lived in Maela Refugee Camp from April 1995 to 2007. He was a faithful pastor of Gilmore Karen Baptist Church in Maela Refugee Camp in Thailand. Rev. Crown settled in America on September 19, 2007 at his sponsors church, Ridge Road Baptist Church in Raleigh. After 10 years, he registered the Karen Congregation as Moriah Karen Baptist Church in April 2017. He was a loving father and pastor for his community and church ministry.

Rev. Gentle is survived by his wife of 49 years, Esther Doh; daughter, Liberty Lander; daughter, Favourite Crown Htaw; son, George Crownson; daughter, Ehhteeku Crown Htaw; and many grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, June 10, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Ridge Road Baptist Church, 2011 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597.
