Regetta Jeanette (Zaino) Petrone

Regetta Zaino Petrone, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born May 26, 1927 in North Hempstead, NY to the late Leonard Lawrence Zaino and Mary Margaret Rowlands Zaino.

She is survived by her sons: Frank J. Petrone, Jr. (Mary) of N. Patchogue, NY, Robert A. Petrone of Raleigh, NC, and Leonard C. Petrone (Elisa) of Mastic, NY; daughter, Diane P. Sheehan (Vincent) of Knightdale, NC; grandchildren: George J. Slater, Frank Petrone, Jaime A. Craft, Vincent J. Sheehan, Jr., Robert Petrone, Evan Petrone, Stephanie Petrone, Leonard Petrone; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Joseph Petrone; granddaughter, Christine P. Morning; brothers: Fred Zaino and Charles Zaino; and a sister, Dorothy Z. Familette.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 6:45 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610 with Reverend Peter Devereux officiating.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

The Petrone family would like to extend special thanks to Community Hospice for the care given to their loved one as well as her special caregivers: Debbie, Charisse, Kelly, and Josephine G. and her staff.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund in memory of Regetta.
