Ralph Allen Quinn

Ralph Quinn formerly of Goldsboro, a long time Raleigh resident left this earth at age 77 on Sunday, December 8th of 2019 when he went back to the Father.  Ralph graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart; Lottie Lamm shortly thereafter.  Ralph was a devoted husband, father, family man that loved his family above himself.  Shortly after marrying the love of his life, he joined the United States Army and was attached to the 7th Army in Germany.  Ralph was a Master Machinist, as a Tool and Die Maker until changing occupations as a Service Engineer where he would retire from Illinois Tool Works.  Ralph attended Business School, as well as obtaining his Machinist Apprenticeship at Corning Glass Works both in Raleigh.

Ralph was a lovingly devoted husband and father.  Over his lifetime, he enjoyed helping his family, friend and neighbors with most any project.  From building dune buggies, carpentry and electrical work of wide variety, to coaching baseball and softball teams to playing tennis and corn hole with our dear neighbors.  Ralph had a zest for life and healthy competition, whether it was on the tennis court, or discussing various topics and current events. 

I will tell you that Ralph had many pets over his lifetime.  But his best friend was always his beloved dog, a Golden Retriever affectionately named Abby. 

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Home at 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC. 

Ralph is survived by his wife, Lottie Lamm Quinn; children: Timothy Allen Quinn and wife La Donna of Raleigh, Jennifer Quinn Reaves and husband Robert of Mooresville, R. Paul Quinn of Mebane with his six grandchildren, Brooke, Brandon, Caroline, Ian, Zachary and Dylan.  Ralph is also survived by his dear brother Louis Quinn and his wife Faye of Goldsboro and was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Margaret Rivenbark Quinn, his brothers Herbert Jack and J.P. Quinn.
