Oliver Wesley (Sr) Parrish

Oliver Wesley Parrish, Sr., 89, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020. He was born January 2, 1931 in Wilson County to the late Charlie Daffney Parrish and Lula Evans Parrish. Oliver honorably served his country in the US Army. From 1975 to 1990 he was the owner of Parrish Hardware in downtown Knightdale. It was there where he made countless friends by serving and meeting their needs. If you could not locate an item, you could go to Parrish Hardware and it could be found. 

Mr. Parrish will lie in state from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC. Due to the Governor’s Orders for COVID -19, masks and social distancing will be required while in the funeral home.   

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Bailey Town Cemetery, Hwy 581, Bailey, NC with Military Honors.              

Oliver is survived by wife, Barbara Ann Parrish; son, Oliver Wesley Parrish, Jr. of Knightdale; daughter, Barbara Gail Parrish Jones (James) of Lincolnton, NC; granddaughter, Christen Neubauer (Nicholas) of Charlotte. 

In addition to his parents, Oliver was preceded in death by his brothers: Thales Franklin Parrish and Jimmy Parrish; sisters: Hazel Fulford and Dorothy Mae Parrish.
