Marion Braswell Jenkins

Marion Braswell Jenkins, 96, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was born February 19, 1923 in Nash County to the late Roland Braswell and Mattie Bowden Braswell. She was a retired elementary school teacher working in both Wake and Nash Counties with over 32 years of service. 

She is survived by her daughters: Yvonne Mitchell (Tim) of Zebulon, Darlene Verran of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren: Bridget Mashburn (Kyle) of Jonesborough, TN and Kalena Verran of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren: Sydney Scott and Kennedy Mashburn; several nieces and nephews.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth and Ernest Braswell; sister, Joyce Wynne.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Peachtree Baptist Church, 3523 N. NC Hwy. 581, Spring Hope, NC 27882.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
