Lura Mae (Walker) Whaley

Lura Mae Walker Whaley, 88, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020. She was born April 1, 1932 to the late Kenneth R. Walker and Beulah Stephenson Walker. Lura worked at Texas Gulf for many years. Lura was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and so proud to be a great-great grandmother and lived to be a part of five living generations.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh. 

Lura is survived by daughters: Brenda W. Smith (Phillip) of Knightdale, Debbie W. Herring (John) of Raleigh; grandchildren: Sarah Smith Lowery, Phillip Wayne Smith (Lisa); great-grandchildren: Tyler, Tanner and Trinity Smith, Megan Lowery, Katie Lowery; great-great grandchildren: Lilly and Daisy Smith. 

In addition to her parents, Lura was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Harold Whaley and son, Reverend Don Whaley.
