Lula "Lucy" Maude (Bennett) Freet

Lula “Lucy” Maude Bennett Freet, 89, passed away Wednesday June 9, 2021 at home in Raleigh. Lucy, daughter of Cyrus Wellington Bennett and Ruby Maude Bennett was born in Waycross Georgia, but spent most of her adult life in Wake County. She was a member of the Little Creek SDA Fellowship. She was married twice, both times to military men, raised 5 children, worked in bookkeeping and management at various local businesses.

Funeral service 6:00 pm, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road Knightdale. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. Lucy is survived by son, Mallie Pou “Mal” Honeycutt III and wife, Christine of Goldsboro; son-in-law, Thomas Keys of Zebulon; daughter, Robin Honeycutt Coleman and husband, Ron of Apex; daughter, Kelli Freet Snyder and husband, Rocky of Raleigh; grandchildren: Mallie Pou Honeycutt IV, Matthew Honeycutt, Johnathan Honeycutt, Jennifer Honeycutt, Jason Keys, Janci Keys, Jena Keys, Daniel Creech, Marissa Meoli, Nick Meoli and Madison Snyder; 12 great-grandchildren;   brother, Richard Gideon Bennett and wife, Gerri of Tacoma, Washington; cousin, Janie Chamblee Rogers of Raleigh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Steven Honeycutt; a daughter, Karen Janine Keys; and brother Cyrus Wellington Bennett Jr.
