Lori was born in Columbus, Wisconsin on February 15, 1958 and grew up in Fall River, WI on a 38 acre sheep farm. Lori earned her degree and married John a few months later on July 26, 1980. She spent the next several years raising her children and volunteering at their schools. She got the opportunity to become a teacher assistant full time in 1995 and loved the next 22 years of working with kids with special needs and in regular education classrooms. In 2008, she was named Teacher Assistant of the Year at Knightdale Elementary and was in the top ten of all Wake County Public Schools. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and taught 1st grade CCD at St. Eugene Catholic Church for many years.
