Lewis Edwin Canady

Lewis Edwin Canady, 63, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born August 12, 1957 in Robeson County to the late Edwin G. Canady, Jr. and Helen Davis Canady. He honorably served his country in the US Army and NC National Guard. Lewis owned and operated Canady’s Overhead Doors. He was always smiling, never met a stranger and made the best of any situation he was dealt.  

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. 

Graveside Service 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon. 

He is survived by children: Bobby Edwin Canady (Chrissy), Christopher Lewis Canady (Amy), Crystal Canady Dixon (Chris), Joshua Tolar Canady (Briana); grandchildren: Hayden Canady, Landen Canady, Weston Dixon, Griffin Dixon and Ava Canady on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lewis was also a second Dad to many. 

In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife and best friend, JoAnn Bridges Canady. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory to assist the family with funeral expenses.
