Kevin Browning Castleberry of Garner, NC, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Monday August 24th, 2020. Kevin was born March 28th, 1955 in Hamilton, OH to William “Bill” Castleberry and Wanda Browning Castleberry. He married the love of his life Helena Akers April 9th, 1984 in West Lafayette, IN. He graduated from Cumberland College attending on an athletic scholarship for Judo. He worked for several years in the Information Technology field as a computer programmer and in the leadership of several companies. He spent the last few years of his life retired and raising AKC Standard Poodles. He was proud of his second degree Black Belt in Judo and was especially proud of his single hole in one while golfing. He enjoyed raising their poodles, golfing, and sharing his life with Helena. Of particular joy and providers of support are his Aunt JoAnn and Uncle Bill Sanderson and his many loving cousins. He was an attending member of Hephzibah Baptist Church of Wendell, NC.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Bill and his mother, Wanda.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Helena Castleberry; his brother, Van Castleberry and Cathryn Apple of Mariemont, OH; his daughter, Krystina Castleberry of Seattle, WA; his stepson, David Raymer and wife, Sarah of West Lafayette, IN; his nephew, Josh Castleberry; and his granddaughter, CJ Raymer. His beloved dogs Taz, Tinkerbell, Frankie, Johnny, and their nine puppies were taken to Saving Grace Animal Rescue, who will find wonderful homes for them.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date due to COVID-19 and to allow his loving wife, Helena to attend.
