Joseph Long Potts

Joseph “Joe” Long Potts, 63, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born April 20, 1960 in Beaufort County to the late Frederick “Fred” Latham Potts, Jr. and Elizabeth “Pud” Long Potts. Joe worked with Merck in Wilson as a machine calibration tech.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Smith Potts; children: Andrea Potts Whitley (Sley), Victor Joseph Potts; grandchildren: Ava & Ansley Whitley; siblings: Frederick “Rick” Latham Potts, III (Kristie), Susan Potts Casper (Mike); mother-in-law, Faye M. Smith; several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:30 am, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the church and other times at the home.
