Jon Paul Baker

Jon Paul Baker, age 72, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on June 4, 1951, to the late Paul Charles Baker and Bertha Jacobi Baker. Jon graduated from Saints Peter and Paul High School in Easton, Maryland in 1969.  Afterward he attended St. Mary’s College in St. Mary’s City, Maryland and graduated with a degree in Social Science. He worked for the State of Maryland as an alcohol and substance abuse counselor.  After that he became a marine boat carpenter, then worked in the housing construction field. Jon was a gifted wood worker and enjoyed making custom-made bookcases and cabinets.  He was a quiet and good-natured man and will be very missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Fox Baker; son James and wife, Kim; grandson, Joseph; sister, Anne Brennan and husband Michael; stepsister Cathy; nephew, Joshua Moss, and niece, Elisabeth Moss; also step nieces, Christy and Melissa.

In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marni and stepbrother, Steve.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Rex Heart and Vascular Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
