Obituary
Jolene Marie (Ott) Brong, 72, formerly of West Seneca, New York passed away on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019. She passed peacefully at home in Clayton, North Carolina.
A funeral liturgy will be offered Sunday June 9th at Discovery Church, 5586 Covered Bridge Rd, Clayton, NC 27527 at 3:00 PM. Burial will be private.
A funeral liturgy will be offered Wednesday, June 12th at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
Jolene was born April 18th, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona, a daughter of the late Marie E. (Crowe) Stewart. Her infectious laughter and love of life was shared with so many. Jolene loved her grandchildren, grand puppies and bunnies. We’ll miss making homemade apple sauce and strawberry jam with Ama. She sent “hug-a-bugs” to everyone she met.
Jolene is survived by three children, Charlene (Brong) Phillips and her husband Jim of Clayton, North Carolina; Douglas Brong of Orchard Park, New York and Kevin Brong and his wife Penny of Tega Cay, South Carolina. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Cassie, Karli, Matt and his wife Natalia, Kelly, Sarah (Sam), Jimmy, Maddy, Hanna and Chloe. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Eagan and Russ Devans and the late Patrick Eagan. She is preceded in death by her sister Joanne (Ott) Shea and her best buddy Benji.
Jolene received a gift of life in September 2013 with a double lung transplant at Duke Hospital. We truly appreciate all the love and care provided by the transplant team to her and our family. A special thanks to Dr. John Reynolds and Janie Hainline – we considered you both family.
