John LeRoy Ohl, 79, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born November 27, 1941 in Marcellus, Michigan to the late John Robert Ohl and Dorothy Marie Phillips Ohl. John was a computer specialist, retiring from the News & Observer with 20 years of service.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Surviving: wife, Kiren Adams Ohl; daughters: Lori Knott (Charles), Jona Gilpin (Paul), Janean Olmstead (Caleb); grandchildren: Michael Gilpin (Liz), Brett Gilpin, Brady Gibson, Trey Gibson (Jodie), McKay Gibson (Alissa); six great-grandchildren.
