Jean was born on June 8, 1932, in London to parents, Ivy Beatrice and Harry Mead. Many of her childhood years were spent at Stanway Children’s Home in England. She married an American soldier and moved to the USA in 1952. She was always a very independent, hard-working woman raising 3 children on her own. She was a proud owner of (2) businesses and continued to work fulfilling part time jobs after retiring.

There were many things that brought joy to this animal loving mother, sister, nana, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was her family, which includes her loving dog she left behind, Sir Winston (Winston Churchill). Just a small example of the love she always had for her homeland.
