James Pelton (Sr.) Weaver

James Pelton Weaver, Sr., 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born April 15, 1923 in Wake County to the late Clarence Daniel Weaver and Mary Gladys Cook Weaver. He honorably served his country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Pelton co-owned and operated Weaver Brothers Auto, Raleigh for many years.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. For anyone unable to attend, Pelton’s service will be live streamed and may be viewed by visiting poolefuneral.com and clicking on his tribute. The live stream link will be at the bottom of the page. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his sons: James P. Weaver, Jr. (DeJuan), Andrew B. Weaver (Barbara), Richard C. Weaver (Betsy Ross); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Maurice A. Weaver; sister, Carolyn W. Faucette.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Averette Weaver; grandson, Jared Weaver; great-granddaughter, Lennox Hope Weaver; and brothers: C.O. Weaver and Daniel T. Weaver.
