James Roderick Strickland II

Jim Strickland, born James Roderick Strickland II on January 21st, 1951, died in his sleep in the morning dusk of December 5th, 2019.

He is remembered in the living flesh of his sons Stuart and Hunter Strickland, his grandson Mikhail, and his sisters Diane Strickland and Vickie Jones.     

Born at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, he grew up in Wendell, in the house and property still maintained by Diane.

He served briefly in the National Guard, and lived a freeform life in Charleston, SC for several years. After his marriage to Anne Triebert, of Morganton, NC, he lived and worked in Raleigh, NC for the rest of his years.

Remember him when you cast a fly rod, tack a sailboat, hike a mountain trail, or tell your children you love them.
