James Raynor Strickland

James Raynor Strickland, 85, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Rex Healthcare. He was born May 7, 1933 in Johnston County to the late Carl Strickland and Luna Boyette Strickland. He was co-owner of ARC Equipment Sales and Service. James was a faithful member of Tippett’s Chapel Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Tippett’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2530 Shotwell Road, Clayton, NC 27520. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm in the church fellowship hall.               

Surviving: daughter, Adele “Del” Strickland Bass (Bob) of Franklin, TN; son, James Lester “Les” Strickland of Raleigh; grandchildren: Austin Bass and Sawyer Claire Bass; brothers: Coleman Strickland (Barbara Nell) of Wendell, Grady Strickland (Faye) of Raleigh; sister, Marie S. Boykin (Warren) of Zebulon; and sister-in-law, Laura Strickland of Dunn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Williams Strickland and brother, Bennett Strickland.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Tippett’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund.
