James Henry Solomon, Jr.

James Henry “J.H.” Solomon, Jr.  73, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home in Kittrell. He was born January 14, 1949 in Wake County to the late James Henry Solomon, Sr. and Ruth Baker Matthews. J.H. graduated in 1967 from Vaiden Whitley High School and joined the US Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1980.   

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, August 19, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park with Military Honors. 

He is survived by his wife, Monica Kilpatrick Solomon; children: Maghan Ruth Solomon Hughes (Kyle), Shannon Foy Leaf (Adrian), Patrick Sean Foy (Dawn), Colleen Garten Gershey (Josh), Brian Garten, Christopher Garten (Martin Majewski); grandchildren: Dyllan, Quin, Madison, Ella, Austyn, Benjamin; sisters: Louise Solomon Lamm (James), Connie Solomon Moss (Ernest); mother of 3 of his children, (Patrick, Maghan, Shannon), Sheila Solomon. 

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Bell.
