James Willie Bullock

James Willie Bullock, 74, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2023, at his home. He was born March 30, 1949, in Wake County to the late Willie Rupert Bullock and Lillian Perry Bullock. James attended Knightdale High School and was in the second graduating class of Vaiden Whitley High School in 1967. Following graduation, James furthered his education at Wake Tech where he became a licensed electrician. James owned Wireways Electrical Service from 1988 to 2004. He then went to work with NC State University Centennial Campus in the Facilities Maintenance Department, retiring in 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Carpenter Bullock; daughter, Meredith Bullock Reeves and husband Justin; son, Travis Lee Bullock; granddaughters: Kate Elizabeth Bullock, Lila Grace Bullock, Ella Joy Reeves; sister, Elizabeth B. Markham and husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles David Bullock and Ronnie Lee Bullock.  

A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Wendell Baptist Church, 3651 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. A burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wendell Baptist Church Youth Department, Post Office Box 187, Wendell, NC 27591.
