Ian Higgins Tanner

Ian Higgins Tanner, 26, loving son and brother passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was born March 29, 1995 in Wake County to Kathryn Higgins Tanner and the late Ward Boyette Tanner. Ian had a big smile and an even bigger heart with a kind, caring soul. He was fun loving, happy and had a great sense of humor with a quick wit. He enjoyed sports and especially being coached by his dad when he was growing up. As a youngster, he was an avid reader of Harry Potter. He enjoyed going to Mountain Top Youth Camp in the summers and serving as a Volunteen at Rex Hospital. Ian enjoyed camping and playing disc golf with his brother, Spencer. He enjoyed family vacations and loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Ian is dearly loved and will always be in our hearts.

A service to celebrate his life will be held December 1st at 11:00 am at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608.

A gathering for family and friends will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Ian is survived by his mother, Kathryn; brother, Spencer Tanner and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, Ian was preceded in death by his grandparents: Tom & Jewel Higgins and Jim & Eleanor Tanner.
