Herbert Waddell Keeler

Herbert Waddell “Herb” Keeler, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 29, 2020 after month of declining health. He was born January 18, 1922 in Wake County to the late Herbert Henry Keeler and Alma Wall Keeler. Herb honorably served our country in the US Navy and retired after 38 years of service from Southern Bell. 

He is survived by his son: Mike Keeler (Donna) of Newport; daughter, Sandra Keeler “Sandy” Inman (Allan) of Knightdale; grandchildren: Jeremy Keeler (Ashley), Matthew Keeler (Bridget), Jennifer Inman Panter (James), Kimberly Inman, Jennifer Lee Inman; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Keeler Bordeaux of Raleigh; and his special caregivers: Heather Humphrey and Dawson Humphrey. 

In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Beals Keeler.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, March 2, 2020 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial with military honors will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
