Grace Belle (Pearce) Chamblee

Grace Belle Pearce Chamblee, 91, passed peacefully on April 18, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1932 to the late Bennett H. and Nannie Watson Pearce. She grew up in Wake County. Grace loved children and served faithfully in several preschools and daycares throughout her life, until she retired, including Calvary Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Street Baptist Church in Raleigh, Brentwood Daycare in Raleigh, and Pilot Baptist Church Daycare in Zebulon. She was able to love and minister to countless children and their families. During her life, she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. After moving to Bunn, she became an active member of Bunn Baptist Church. In her later years, after moving to Robinwood Senior Living, she was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and attended until she was no longer physically able. Grace loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. She clung to Him and His Word daily trusting that He would never leave her nor forsake her. Now, she is with the Lord face-to-face. Her sweet gentle spirit will be missed.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Brenda Massey Alford of Zebulon; stepdaughter, Ann Chamblee Hellmuth (Bill) of Raleigh; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Perry O’Neal Chamblee; grandson, Jeremy Patrick Brooks; stepson, Perry Lynn Chamblee; stepdaughter, Jean Chamblee Narron; step-grandson, Thomas Wilson, IV; and sisters, Ella Frances Pearce, Leona Wood, Rebecca Lawrence, and Loree Crump.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home.

A committal service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
