Govindlal Sureja

After courageous battle of lung cancer, Govindlal Sureja, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14 , 2021 with his family by his side at age 76. Govindlal was born in a small town called Vasantpur on  January 2, 1945. He was the middle of three children and the first to graduate from college in 1976.  He served as grihpati (hostel superintendent) of Patel boarding school of Jamjodhpur for 33 years. He had a deep desire to help children and guide them to a successful career. Throughout his career, he made a great impact on all of his student’s lives. Many of his underprivileged students who received his guidance in the hostel, are now living a very successful life. He lived a very selfless and simple life and raised three very kind and respectful children. 

A private family service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory.

Govindlal is survived by his beloved wife, Jayaben; loving and caring daughter, Asmita; son-in-law, Dinesh Kanjia; sons: Arun and Vijay; and grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed and will forever remain in the hearts and memories of his loved ones.

Govindlal will always be honored for the support he provided to his family, friends and all his students from the Patel Boarding School of Jamjodhpur.
