Obituary
Geraldine “Gerry” Wright Wall, 96, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born March 22, 1926 in Hoke County to the late John Crawford Wright and Ida Rosa Tapp Wright. Gerry graduated from Raeford High School. She was a registered nurse receiving her degree from Rex Hospital School of Nursing. She began her career as a US Army cadet nurse. She and her late husband, Ernest Commodore Wall owned and operated E.C. Wall Plumbing Company and Gerry served as secretary. Geraldine did Godly work with the Gideons International since 1964 and mission work in Peru and Mexico. She proclaimed God’s Word in faithful service in home Bible studies. Her motto was “Go tell the people about Jesus”.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
A private entombment will be held at Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Neal Crawford Wall (Arcy); daughters: Diane W. Price (Lloyd), Elizabeth W. Stancil (Willis); grandchildren: Christopher, Stewart, William, Jonathan, Rachel; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Gerry was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Paige and her brother, Alwin Basil Wright.
