Obituary

George Hayter Chubb Junior was born in Swatow, now called Shantou, China June 12, 1940. He passed away suddenly in his home with his wife Lita and close friends surrounding him in their home in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He was born to Marjorie Evelyn Burgess and George Hayter Chubb Senior. Both of his parents were of southern Asian and English decent. After the war in China both George and his mother Marjorie traveled through Laos to Calcutta, India where George lived for a short while before moving to Burma. A period in his life that changed him forever and that he often spoke about. Images of seeing tigers and other wildlife that as a young boy stayed with him throughout his life.

Before he was even ten years old he had lived in twelve different countries and had learned several different languages including Spanish that he would later speak with his wife Angela, "Lita.”. George moved to the United States in 1957 as a British citizen and became a US citizen in 1964. Shortly after, he joined the United States Navy until 1967 and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.  He married and lived in Maryland where he had one child before marrying a second time and moving to Raleigh, North Carolina where he and Lita lived happily for many years. 

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm, Friday, February 14, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7312 Forestville Road, Knightdale, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, 7312 Forestville Road, Knightdale, NC. Burial will follow at the Town of Zebulon Cemetery with military honors. 

He is survived by his wife Angela C. Chubb, his daughter Eve Chubb from his previous marriage and his three stepdaughters; Susan, Laurie and Julie. 

George Hayter Chubb Junior nació en Swatow, ahora llamado Shantou, China, el 12 de junio de 1940. Falleció repentinamente en su casa con su esposa Lita y amigos cercanos que lo rodeaban en su casa en Raleigh, Carolina del Norte.

Nació de Marjorie Evelyn Burgess y George Hayter Chubb Senior. Sus dos padres eran de ascendencia asiática del sur e inglés.

Después de la guerra en China, tanto George como su madre, Marjorie, viajaron a través de Laos a Calcuta, India, donde George vivió por un corto tiempo antes de mudarse a Birmania. Un funeral se llevará a cabo a las 10am, el Sábado 15 de Febrero de 2020 en La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, 7312 Forestville Road, Knightdale, Carolina del Norte. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio de la ciudad de Zebulon con honores militares.

Le sobreviven su esposa Angela C. Chubb, su hija Eve Chubb de su matrimonio anterior y sus tres hijastras; Susan, Laurie y Julie.
