Obituary

Freddie Max Wattenbarger, 80, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020. He was born April 29, 1940 in Sullivan County, MO to the late Gaddis Earl Wattenbarger and Dorothy Williams Wattenbarger.

Freddie honorably served his country in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne division. He retired with over 50 years of service in the power line construction industry.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

Freddie is survived by grandchildren: Kevin Wattenbarger (Lauren), Brandon Wattenbarger (Courtney); great-grandchildren: Hunter, London, Finley, Brynn, and Alibeth Wattenbarger; step-son: Tommy Thompson; and his sisters: Nancy Webster, Judy Henley, and Kathy McCullum.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mumford Wattenbarger; son, Carl Dewayne Wattenbarger; sisters, Louise Ford, Amber Quigley, Helen Thompson, Peggy Wilbur; brothers, Carl "Sonny" Wattenbarger, Donald Wattenbarger; and step-son, Phillip Fleming.
