Esther (Deans) Bennett

Esther Deans Bennett of Knightdale, NC went to be with her Lord on January 17, 2021. 

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, granny, and sister who loved her family and friends. Esther grew up in Wilson, NC and moved to Raleigh after school where she met her husband. 

She graduated from Rock Ridge High School. She was a beautician for a number of years in her own shop in Knightdale. 

She is survived by two daughters: Gayle B. Windham, Bobbie B. Goodson; grandson, Albert Carlton Windham IV. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby Nelson Deans of Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall W. Bennett, Jr.; parents: Mary Clyde Deans and L.C. Deans, Sr.; brothers: L.C Deans, Jr., Elmer Deans, Gurney Deans, Harold Deans, Clarence Gene Deans, Steven T. Deans, Sr., and Buddy Deans.     

The family would like to express their thanks and love to her wonderful caregivers who were part of our family: Lina Neal, Mary Mwaura, Jane Wachira and Mary Wachira. We will always be grateful for their loving care and compassion. 

A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 5171 Glenwood Avenue, #101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
