Elijah Bryson Smith-Short

Elijah Bryson Smith-Short, 20, left us on November 16th 2021 to be with the Lord. He leaves his memory to his parents, Willie Stevenson and Makaila Payne, his adoptive parents, Matt Smith-Short and Jonathan Short, his sisters, Madison Treglia and Ariyana Stevenson, and his brothers, Dwight Stevenson and Donavon Stevenson. 

Elijah Bryson Smith-Short was born on October 16, 2001 at Northern Surry Hospital in Mount Airy , North Carolina to Willie Stevenson and Makaila Payne. He graduated from East Wake High School in 2019 and attended UNC Greensboro where he studied Business Management. Elijah worked at Texas Roadhouse as a server. 

His interests included spending time with his siblings and friends, drawing, and taking pictures. He liked to dress to impress and had a strong love for shoes. When meeting new people, Elijah was shy and reserved, but once he familiarized himself with others, he was always able to quickly make new friends. His few remaining years were spent in the company of his friends and family. Elijah was an amazing big brother and an exceptional son that always strived to be the best in every way possible. 

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
