Edwrith Harold Keith, 80, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2022 at his home. Harold was born April 30, 1941 in Wake County to the late George Edwrith Keith and Blanche Ozetta Smith Keith. He graduated from Knightdale High School in 1959 and served in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Harold married the love of his life, Joyce Glover Keith on December 17, 1960 and together they provided a wonderful, nurturing home for many children. Harold was a self-employed licensed broker and contractor. Harold and Joyce were instrumental in forming the Sunshine Seniors, providing programs and trips for senior adults and scholarships for children’s education. He was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church serving in numerous capacities.
Harold is survived by his wife of 61 years Joyce Glover Keith; daughter Victoria “Tori” S. Keith; sons: Earl Kirkman Keith (Susan), Phillip Marshall Galvan (Jana), Hugh Lane Kirkman; many natural and adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Marie Smith Keith; brother James Henry Keith (Jo); sister-in-law Mary Jo Keith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Harold Keith; and a brother Donald Wayne Keith.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 7600 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Burial will follow at Old Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Keith family kindly requests that those attending the visitation and/or service to please social distance and wear a face mask.
