Diane (Bryant) Cooke

Diane Bryant Cooke, 71, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was born August 7, 1949 in Wake County to the late Avon Washington “A.W.” Bryant and Mary Jean Batton Bryant. Diane graduated from Middlesex High School and attended Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. She retired with 30 years of service from the State of North Carolina working as an event planner with The McKimmon Center and as an administrative assistant with the Department of Administration.  

Diane is survived by her husband, Keith Cooke; son, Brooks Gay and wife Natalie; daughter, Courtney Bissette Horton and husband Andy; grandchildren: Ethan Mason, Ava Horton, Chandler Cone; sisters: Donna Bryant Wilder and husband Jerry; Catherine Bryant Deaton and husband Reitzel; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Samaria Baptist Church, 3752 Samaria Church Lane, Middlesex, NC 27557. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the church.
