Deborah Denise (Roundtree) Camp

Deborah Denise Camp, 65, passed away peacefully at her home June 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was a fierce, strong, witty friend, wife, mother, grandma, nana, and sister. She was born on September 1, 1956 in Kansas, the daughter of Jim Rountree and Betty Wiles. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Rountree and step-mother, Phyllis Rountree. 

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Scott Camp; daughter, Janelle Kaye Pendleton and husband Lee and their children: Colt, Chandler, and Justin; son, Jason Gregg Walton and wife, Melina and their children: Chance, Carly, and Gavin; daughter, Brittney Anne Tonnesen and husband James and their children: Addison and Asher; daughter, Brianna Nicole Camp and her fiancé Aaron; mother and stepfather Betty and Phillip Wiles; brother, Mark Rountree and his husband Don. There are countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that have become family that are just too great to list - but are not any less important. 

She leaves behind a family and large group of friends that she was very proud of. Debby or “Sarge”, as she was known to many, was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. With that said she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lioness) and yet she sugar coated nothing. 

All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her love for the beach, her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and caring for them. 

A celebration of life memorial visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
